Why is it so hard to get accurate information about Autism?

Scientists still don’t know the cause of Autism or how it develops. Science still hasn’t found genes or things in the body that show if a person is Autistic, so they have to decide if someone is Autistic based on how they act or things that happen to them that seem Autistic, like being really overwhelmed by sounds, lights, or touch. So, there are no standard ways to tell if someone is really Autistic or to treat their Autism to make them better. Also, Autism is very complex. It looks a lot of different ways in different people!
